Hello. I am Hugh William Dichmont, and I am a tiny writer, as illustrated by the actual-size photograph to my right, your left. I write darkly comic scripts, for theatre, TV, film and radio.
My 2018 one man stageshow about depression, The War On Terry, was described by LondonTheatre1 as "heart-breaking and relentless" - which suggests they didn't get the jokes. It was also listed by FringeReview as one of their "Top Ten Plays Not to Miss".
Recently I wrote ★★★★★ podcast, The Future History of the British Isles, described by listeners as "funny and surreal", "fast-moving, weird", and "exposing the cracks of our current political and ideological crisis". Wow, I like that quote. I should put it on my website.
Before writing, I had a career as a visual artist, as part of rambunctious artist collective Tether, making collaborative installations and performance events, including a Disco Toilet, which I still miss a bit, but I rent a flat, so that's not really feasible, is it
